Allied Intelligence and the Cover Up at Pointe Du Hoc: The History of the 2nd & 5th US Army Rangers, 1943–30th April 1944
Rather informative book, bit messy with the information. But a lot of resources on 1. US Army Rangers before D-Day. 2. Ranger Assault on Pointe du Hoc, France.

US Army Rangers & LRRP Units 1942–87
The Osprey series are always a good introduction to the topic. This one is like that. Great overview.

Rangers at Dieppe: The First Combat Action of U.S. Army Rangers in World War II
Ok the hardcover is a bit expensive but go for the kindle version and you have an enjoyable book about the 50 US Army Rangers from the 1st Ranger Battalion who participated in the Dieppe Raid.
US Special Warfare Units in the Pacific Theater 1941–45: Scouts, Raiders, Rangers and Reconnaissance Units
US Special Warfare Units in the Pacific Theater 1941–45: Scouts, Raiders, Rangers and Reconnaissance Units
Like the Osprey series a great overview. A small section about the 6th Ranger Infantry Battalion in the Philippines.
